Participation in the Masterclass is free of charge. All participants are responsible for covering their own travel, accommodation, and meals expenses.

The Lecturers

Prof. Christoph Hartmann

Born in Landsberg am Lech in 1965, Christoph Hartmann studied under Prof. Günther Passin at the Academy of Music in Munich.

He has won prizes at international competitions in Toulon, Genf, and Tokio. After joining the Stuttgart Philharmonic, he quickly secured a seat with the Berlin Philharmonic in 1992.
As a soloist, he regularly tours Europe, Asia, and South America. He has performed at various international festivals, including Mozartfest in Wurzburg and Stavanger International Chamber Music Festival.

Christoph Hartmann is currently a Professor of Oboe at the Musikhochschule Freiburg. He also founded the festival „Landsberger Sommermusiken“ and the „Philharmonic oboe Quartett“ with colleagues from his orchestra PoQ in 2017.

Prof. Lucas Navarro

Born in 1978 in Valverde del Camino, Spain, Lucas Macias Navarro began his musical journey at age 9, taking music lessons at the Huelva Conservatory.

He continued his education under Thomas Indermühle at the Zurich Conservatory, followed by acceptance into Heinz Holliger’s oboe class at Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, where he completed his soloist training. Lucas further refined his skills at the Karajan Academy with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and in Geneva with Maurice Bourgue.

He achieved success as a prize winner in international competitions in Switzerland, Italy, and Japan, and has collaborated with renowned musicians, including Claudio Abbado and Heinz Holliger. Prior to his appointment as Oboe Professor at Hochschule für Musik Freiburg in the winter semester of 2012/13, Lucas held a professorship at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Aragon in Zaragoza.
